Our Mission
As a ministry of the First United Methodist Church of Lexington, NE, it is our mission to provide an environment and activities that stimulate a child’s interest in the world, allow children to practice the basics of positive interaction, gain skills that support academic learning and instill a sense of the endless wonder of God’s world. Shining Star Preschool is part of that mission and has been making a difference in children's lives for over 25 years!
Preschool Program
Shining Star Preschool is open to all children, regardless of church affiliation, ethnicity or language spoken and the programs mission is to nurture the "whole child". It provides age-appropriate learning experiences for children ages 3 to 5 years old. The goal of the preschool is to provide experiences that stimulate the child’s interest in God’s world and provide an environment where each child is nurtured in their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual development. It is our goal to make preschool available to every family! We have created an environment that is exciting, colorful, safe and completely kid-friendly.
Shining Star Preschool is a place where we aim to nurture the “whole child” in areas of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development and provide a "learn-by-doing" atmosphere. This is achieved by providing a variety of activities that are developmentally appropriate and recognizes the individual needs and differences of children. Each day we do many fun activities, all to encourage children to be independent thinkers and lifelong learners.

Tuesday & Thursday Mornings
All children ages 3 to 4 (must be potty-trained).
Monday, Wednesday & Friday Mornings or Afternoons
All children ages 4 to 6.
