Student Ministries at First Church Lex provides exciting opportunities for students grades 6 – 12. We have a community of students and leaders who desire to grow in their faith, connect in authentic relationships, reach out to our neighbors with love, and serve those in need. The student ministry is a place where students come to have fun and get to know other awesome people. It is our goal that students will connect with God and one another, grow together on their faith journey, and serve our neighbors with love.
Middle SchoolThese weekly gatherings for youth in grades 6-8 are focused on Christian fellowship, group building activities, service projects, and small-group sharing in a discipleship group. Unless otherwise specified, middle school youth meet in the Fellowship Hall. We encourage parents and students with a cell phone to sign up for the group text messages and the weekly First Church Friday Connect emails, and like the church Facebook page to be well informed of activities, reminders, and inclement weather closings.

High SchoolStudents in grades 9-12 have a place all to themselves at First United Methodist Church. It’s a place devoted to teenagers encountering God, making friends, growing together and making a difference! An opportunity for high school youth to connect more deeply to their faith through an experience of Christian community, and through conversations with peers and adults. Meet in the Fellowship Hall every Wednesday for a meal at 7:30 p.m. followed by deep theological discussions, ridiculous hilarity, and everything in-between in the upstairs Youth Room.

Children & Youth Sundays
At FUMC we believe our children and youth are important! On every 5th Sunday during the year, our children and youth lead the entire worship service on Sunday morning. They perform special music, read the scriptures, and even perform a play or give testimonials. Additionally, each year during fall our church presents all second-graders (and third graders who were not with us during second grade) their very first Bible.
