Church Council is our governing board for the church and Shining Star Preschool. Church Council has oversight of the functions of trustees related to buildings and grounds, investment accounts and endowments. The Church Council develops, oversees and directs all financial operations of the church including giving and budget. Church Council is responsible for all staffing decisions and coordination of human resources for the church and preschool.
Any member or interested constituent of First United Methodist Church Lexington is welcome to attend the Church Council meetings. A time for congregational comments is included in the early part of each meeting. You can always speak with the Council Chair to be placed on the agenda. We conduct quarterly board meetings.
